I my dream is to become a lawyer (a Barrister and work in civil law), and I want to know how difficult it is to become a barrister and how competitive it is. Also, what are the stages (in terms of education) that I have to go through to become a barrister?
Is it as competitive and difficult to get into as everyone says?
Thanks in advance,

It's set to become even more difficult... There are plans to make the BVC more difficult to pass by including competency tests...

3 or 4 year degree + 1 or 2 year Bar Vocational Course + Pupilige = Roughly 6/7 years.
Depends if you do an LLB or not. If not, the GDL is one or 2 years (depending on if you do it full or part time)
